Tennis
You can play tennis at most hotel courts and their guest fees are quite reasonable. At some hotels you can get a lesson as well. Visitors should check at the pro shops for rates. St. Thomas also has two free public courts at Sub Base; the courts are available only on a first-come, first-served basis.

Water Sports

Fishing
There have been 21 world records set in the waters of the Virgin Islands in recent years. The islands are located on the edge of the Puerto Rico Trench, a six-mile drop-off that's the deepest hole in the Atlantic Ocean. Some of the hardest-fighting sport fish in the world are found here, including White Marlin, Wahoo, Allison Tuna, Dolphin and Kingfish. There are many operators at American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook who offer half-day deep-sea fishing expeditions and provide bait & tackle, ice & beer.

Parasailing
If you have never been Parasailing, what are you waiting for? You won't believe the view of the island from over 500 feet in the air! Parasailing is available at most of the waterfront hotels.

Windsurfing & Surfing
Windsurfing gear is available at the major hotels, as well as at several beaches. Brewers Bay, Vessup Beach, Limetree Beach, Morningstar Beach and Sapphire Beach are some of the most popular spots for this sport. The best waves off St. Thomas can usually be found at Hull Bay.

Boating / Yachting
The U.S. Virgin Islands has the largest commercial charter fleet in the Caribbean. Both power and sailing vessels available for either crewed or bareboat charters. If you want to be on your own you can rent a power boat and visit an island of your choice to snorkel, picnic or sightsee. There are scheduled trips by boat that include day sails to St. John and high-speed ferry rides to St. John and the British Virgin Islands. One favorite day sail is the full- or half-day excursion around the islands, with stops at beaches where you can lunch, snorkel, swim and sunbathe.

The U.S. Virgin Islands has entered the international sailing arena in 2000 and will compete for the America's Cup for the first time in history. The Virgin Islands America's Cup Challenge is already underway and they are busy finding talented designers, managers, sailors and sponsors for this exciting event.
