Garden
by the Sea Bed & Breakfast, offers a unique and tranquil environment where
you can escape and relax on the beautiful island of St.John - a gem of the
Caribbean. Garden by the Sea is nestled between the glistening waters of Frank
and Turner Bays, just one bay south of Cruz Bay, on the shores of the Audubon
Sanctuary Pond, in a shady grove of local Ganip trees and Coconut palms. Built
in the early 1970's, the secluded, large, 3 room guest house is architecturally
designed in Caribbean gingerbread style with swinging hammocks and soft breezes
through a variety of exotic plants, palms, and flowering trees. From our
gardens, a one minute path leads you to Frank Bay where you may swim and snorkel
at your leisure. Breakfast is offered in the morning on our verandah, with a
healthy variety of fresh fruits, homemade breads, muffins and quiche. A
selection of local teas, coffees and juices will nourish you.
Garden by the
Sea boasts a comfortable Common Room for casual conversation. Beautiful views
surround the airy common room from all directions. This is the perfect spot to
mingle with other guests, read from our local interests library, or simply
lounge about with a cool and soothing drink.
Each of our three
private guest rooms features romantic bamboo canopy beds, tropical stonework
bathrooms, hardwood floors, Japanese fountains and ocean views.
Please
note our rates do not include the 8% VI Hotel Tax. All rooms are
non-smoking and all rates are double occupancy only. Adults 18
and over are welcome.
Amenities
- Welcome drink upon arrival, full breakfast, bath robes, beach
chairs, beach towels, beach blanket, and coolers all enhance
your vacation experience. The kitchen has a microwave and range
to reheat food. It also has a refrigerator with a shelf for
each room, a blender, and coffee maker.
Reservation Policy
- We require a 50% deposit to confirm your reservation made by
check and which is due within 10 business days of your
reservation. Once your deposit is received a confirmation packet
will be sent to you. The remaining balance of your room charge
is due upon arrival, payable by traveler's check or cash. We do
not accept credit cards.
Cancellation Policy
- 45 days notice prior to arrival for a refund of 75% of
deposit. Cancellation within 45 days of arrival date, deposit is
forfeited by guest. We do not refund for inclement weather or
other circumstances beyond our control. Travel insurance is
recommended.
Check In & Check Out
- We carefully prepare each room for arriving guests, so please
help us by checking out at our posted time of 11:00 AM. Check In
is from 3:00 - 6:00 PM., with understanding of later arrivals.
Maid Service
- In order to avoid disturbing our guests, we do not provide
daily maid service. However, rooms are changed and cleaned
midweek for our week long guests.
Phone
Service - For your
peace and privacy, Garden by the Sea does not provide phones in
guest rooms. If you would like to give friends or relatives a
number where you can be reached, please have them call
