At Casa La Pelá, you wake up to the sound of the surf and to gorgeous sunrises. Relax on the spacious terrace surrounded by lush tropical plants. Enjoy spectacular views of the Virgin Islands, Culebrita lighthouse, sailboats, and ships.

Casa La Pelá overlooks and abuts La Pelá Bay. The Bay is ringed with islets and a magnificent coral reef. The waterfront is private, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Three kayaks for guest’s use. Motorboats and a Sunfish sailboat are available to rent. Fishing is good.

Architect-designed, the 2000 square foot home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, great room, spacious terrace, and a patio. The house sleeps up to eight people. There are two king-size beds, two singles, and a double futon. The house is naturally air-conditioned with cooling trade winds, 10 ft ceilings with fans, and tile floors.

The secluded, five-acre site is at the east end of Culebra, four miles from town.

About Culebra Island

Culebra is midway between Puerto Rico and St. Thomas. Culebra is a small, undeveloped, low-crime island with casual and friendly people, uncrowded sandy beaches, world-class scuba and snorkeling, and excellent sport fishing.

The island is hilly, and has a tropical-arid climate. There are miles of roads and trails for biking and hiking. A third of Culebra is a National wildlife refuge, with many varieties of birds, fish, and turtles. Culebra is well known for its turtle nesting watch tours.

A special feature about Culebra is the many surrounding islets. These are popular for exploring, swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing.
